Jack's Compass / Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest Created from a heavily retooled toy compass from "Dead Man's Chest". The entire compass was cut down for accurate thickness, and styrene raised paneling was applied over the entire piece for accuracy. The inside dial was removed and rebuilt with accurate shapes and markings and reinstalled over a weathered free spinning dial. The plastic clasp that was sculpted onto the body pieces was ground off and replaced with a functional metal clasp altered for accuracy. The back hinge was cut out and replaced with a metal hinge, as was the back ring assembly. Entire piece was wet washed for aging and detail.
